There are many heartwarming stories in this book, some schmaltz, and some stories that I've heard or read before. The book suffers though from the authors trying too hard to put pat endings on each story so that many of the "punchlines" get repeated and therefore lessen the effect of an otherwise interesting story.

I'm a sucker for anything inspirational and heartfelt. I LOVED IT!

If I remember correctly, it is exactly the sort of heartwarming nonsense that the title would lead you to anticipate.
(P.S. I hate chicken soup. That yellow, salty broth makes me nauseous. And the dry chicken, the slimy noodles...there is nothing good about it. I assume that most people have pretty much exactly the opposite association with chicken soup--that it's homey and delicious and filling and decreases nausea. Similarly, I assume that people find compilations of heartwarming things comforting rather than nauseating. People are weird.)

There were so many wonderful stories included in this book. I really enjoyed reading about all the amazing pets.
