I was really excited for this book as I wasn’t really sure what to expect. In the end, it was way different that what I was even imagining. It most definitely is a slow burn, in that there’s not a lot of action but more a character development novel. You follow a woman who realize she has settled in a lot of aspects of her life. Her career, her relationships, and in her self image. You watch her go through a spiritual awakening of some sort as she redefines not only herself but also her relationship with her music which is heavily connected to her relationship with her family.
While I was left with some questions and underwhelmed in some of the aspects of the story. I feel the book itself stands as a beautifully written piece of reimagining yourself and change. I look forward to reading people’s interpretations of the novel.
