I'm trying to read more stories from South America.

This starts slow, ends fast. I liked the ending.

I liked how it was written - meandering but also to the point, lazy rivers all reaching the same sea.

Its a more political version of The House Maid by Frieda McFadden (or whatever that one's called).

I'm not a big fan of "maid" stories, personally - they feel a bit cliché. Horror stories from the day to day.

if i struggle to fall asleep in the future, i will just pick this book up to sleep :D (jk) (not really)

while i understand the narrative/criticism on social class differences, it felt flat. for a short book, it felt too long for my liking. the only reason why i finished this book is because i wanted to know what happened but, still, I was not too fond of the ending. i think if this went in another direction to show the theme, it would have been better.
