Beautifully set and amazingly concise manual for typesetting and juxtaposition. No fuss, lots of condensed and easy to understand ways to set a text. Combined with [b:Editing by Design: For Designers, Art Directors, and Editors--the Classic Guide to Winning Readers|522003|Editing by Design For Designers, Art Directors, and Editors--the Classic Guide to Winning Readers|Jan White|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1390433610s/522003.jpg|509893] it makes a hefty manual (nearly complete) for every editorial designer.

I really liked the letterform development section, including the detailed discussion of 10 favorite typefaces. Other than it was mostly "old news" but as with Lupton, good to get a refresher. And this seems like it would be a great primer for a beginner. Though I'm still partial to Bringhurst.
