I chose this book after hearing about the Netflix series Bosch and the fact that is is based on a book series character. I tried a few episodes of the show and it is fine,but didn't grab me. However, I did like the book and the addition of a female detective. I think that books like this are better to actually read, not listen to, Bosch as there are so many details to keep track of, but I will seek out more books in the series.

I seem to like the character of Ballard more than Bosch. Although reckless at times, on the whole she seems much more level-headed than Bosch. It could also be a consequence of Bosch reaching the retirement age.

While I liked the development of a partnership between Ballard & Bosch, some of the dialogue/plot lines in this one made me cringe so much. Also, I’m sorry but I’m starting to hate books where it wraps up just in the last minute. This one wasn’t for me, but I’ll definitely be checking out the next one to see if I like it better.

They go back & forth between narrators on each chapter, except for the very last chapter when they narrate together. I think I'dve liked it better if all the chapters were the same. Renee is a good addition to the Connelly universe. I'll have to read the first of her novels.

Just one question, "did Ballard ever sleep?" Kerjanya shift malem, selesai shift ngerjain kasus di luar LAPD bareng Bosch. Ngebayanginnya pun kok dia sanggup ya? udah gitu Ballard is a really though detective. Karakter dia keren banget, LUV LUV LUV!!!!<3
