This book was fun but I had a really hard time finishing it. There was just so much going on, it’s like I couldn’t keep up and needed a break. I really enjoyed the characters and the story itself was really thrilling and suspenseful, there was just so much happening.

This book follows Shae Summers in Sapling, Colorado as she works on getting her life back after her leaving a toxic marriage in New York. While she’s making a new life in Sapling, she can’t help it if her culinary love and skill help her make a name for herself. It also catches the eye of Dev Kingston, the community investor who is home from California trying to help his small town stay alive. As their relationship grows, Shae’s previous life is surprisingly intertwined with her new one and she has to decide if she’s ready to confront her past so she can move on and make a new home.

Spooning Leads to Forking was the second book I’d read from Kilby Blades and I’m surprised at how difficult it was for me to finish this book. I really dragged my feet on this one because I just couldn’t keep up. There was a lot of back story and a lot of moving parts to this story. I stuck with it because I knew the end would be good. And the ending was great! I loved how everything turned out. The story itself was awesome, I dont know what it was but I struggled. I probably wouldn’t read it again, but I’d find it hard not to recommend this to romance readers looking for a small-town drama/suspense filled romance. It was a good book, I just wouldn’t be able to do it again.

Set in the Colorado mountains a romance with some self discovery and a mystery plot too. A bit of a slow read at first but the third act picks it up and takes you for an adventure for sure. If you can handle being a bit confused for a bit the way the book is structured into 3 acts with act 1 and act 2 not really merging until act 3 it's worth a read.

I liked this book. You have Shea who ran away from a very narcissistic husband and she took money out of an account that she knew was being used for money laundering. Then you have Dev who is the jack of all trades and even a deputized sheriff. I liked how the chemistry was between the two characters and how she finally stood up for herself. It took me a bit to get into the book but I am glad that continued it.
