Some very interesting and intriguing ideas, but they often felt bogged down by the technical/anatomical jargon. I guess I've been lucky that the past few science books I've read have all had clearer and more readable prose. As it stands, I liked this book, but I didn't love it as much as I wanted to.

I enjoyed the gymnastics that this book put my mind through, but I have to admit that I zoned out in certain bits. I found it hard to focus on the author's line of argumentation because so much of the content was new to me.

Maybe I should try reading this again when I've learned more about the phenomenology of the mind.

I think I would have been more impressed with this if I had read it when it first came out. But I've read other, more recent books that discuss the importance of emotion in reasoning (How We Decide, for example) and include more current studies.
