I enjoyed this more than I have any other Kasie West book in quite some time. The romance wasn't quite well developed, particularly for the end it got, but Sophie's character and other relationships were really well done. I loved the tensions that developed between her and her best friend over her leaving their town. I felt the resolution to that was handled really well too. And I adored how West treated Sophie's complicated feelings for both of her parents. There was a definite shift there from childhood thinking to adult thinking that was fascinating to see and not really explored a lot in YA. And the boy part is fun if not totally believable.

This was a mid-tier book. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exceptional. It was cute, as all Kasie West books I’ve read so far have been, but it was kind of annoying at times.

I started this book three different times, and today it finally stuck! Like all of Kasie West’s books, this was a fun, light read with cute characters and a sweet romance. The format of the book was the source of my hesitation at first, as I couldn’t imagine seeing a love story unfold over the course of a year when we only saw the characters at certain events. However, once I got into the story, it didn’t really seem to matter. Overall, it was exactly what I expected from Kasie West, and I couldn’t have asked for anything else.

2 stars because it was easy to get through but it fell flat and the protagonist was rude and unlikable.

"One year, Nine events, Nine chances to fall in love"

I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS BOOK !
Micah, Sophie and Andrew all had their own problems to do with their family, friends and themselves but watching them change and their character's development was just that much satisfying because of it. Soph & Andrew went from enemies to lovers, and the growth of their relationship was just too cute. Although they are very different from each other ( and equally opinionated ), in the end they are just such a cute couple. This book was split into nine different sections - starring each event. i really liked that concept and it was imo fun to read. I finished this lighthearted read in a little less than a day.
