I didn't learn anything new but found the book very good regardless. Not sure whether it is based on real journals or fictitious ones, if real, then Mary was exception in more ways than one as to read and write in such a way was almost unheard of for girls of this time.

I originally read this when I was about thirteen. I honestly loved it back then and it stayed with me since. I have re-read in the past and hope to read this year again as well.

I picked this up at a thrift store because I liked the cover and the overall concept of a found diary of a Salem witch was so intriguing. It was definitely a quick, easy, and interesting read. But, it did feel a little lacking to me. I just kept waiting for something more to happen, and was hoping we would get to see more actual witchcraft. I did not love that the ending left me hanging. Overall, it was clearly written for a younger audience but kept my interest.

Pretty boring and basic, it read like a very dry historical account

It's a good book in ways that you feel the way witch hunting went in 1600 and how strict religion was without making the book something of sensation.

Easy to read, even for children as there is no direct violence in it. However i wonder if they will grasp the physiological terror described in the book.
