I have never given five starts for a debut book. Yes! This is a debut author and I am completely blown away! I absolutely loved every minute of reading this book. I experienced every emotion expressed in this story, the gasps, the swoons, the cursing, fanning myself. I can count on my fingers the number of books that have made me so emotional that I cried when reading them. This book hit all my emotions and then some. I found myself tearing up and falling in love and laughing to the point that I probably seemed manic. I I could not put this book down. I enjoyed reading about these characters. I loved their chemistry and their banter. I loved the way you see their relationship progress throughout the story.

Bishop has definitely been added to my book boyfriend list. He is charming and sexy. He is alpha, yet not afraid to show his vulnerability. I fell head over heels for this characters and I am still swooning after reading. Valor is sassy and fun and she is not afraid to stand up for herself. She is the perfect compliment for Bishop and there are definitely sparks that you can't help but feel when they are together.

This is definitely an author I will be returning to and reading more from and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. I definitely hope to read more about some of the other characters in this story and more.

Loved the writing and story of this book. It really embodies the red string theory.  You see the relationship build between Bishop and Valor from friendship to lovers. It really tapped into my own emotions with the whole mom issue. Just when I thought if certain parts would get brushed over, Monty was able to address them later in the story. Will continue to read the series.

OH MY GOSH I'm in love with this book!  I could not get enough of Bishop and Valor, especially as their relationship only grew stronger over the years and I was devastated during the parts they were not together.  Monty Jay did an amazing job at writing their character growth in this book and how they experienced and grew from their past traumas - it was absolutely beautiful.  I also loved so many of the side characters in this story and cannot wait to continue this series!

This is my second book I have read by Monty Jay and I swear to god she has this way of writing that is like casting a spell on you! As I started reading this I was shocked and thought no no no I don’t like the way this was headed….confusion was an understatement. But, like always, I had the little voice say “go on keep reading I swear you won’t be disappointed”. And I am NOT disappointed one bit! Holy ****! I was not prepared for the freaking story MJ packed into Love & Hockey.

I have to say first and foremost JR is my dream dad, this man is such a beautiful character and I was literally close to screaming if he didn’t have a happy ending! So, thank you for that Epilogue giving that man a woman!

The heavy topics were of course on point with MJ’s writing and had me wiping my wet eyes. The way that everything is laid out seems so believable and organic that you can’t even hate Bishop when he’s doing all that foolish stuff to Valor. Because you get it, you get why he is afraid.

Valor, what a name and what a character she was! Her growth was pure beauty to read. Just so touching and I was cheering for her when she said what she said to Bishop at the apartment with Nico and Malakai. The girl is a boss and I loved her fierceness even when she felt weak, she didn’t crumble. She stood up straight even when she was falling apart.

A flipping great read! The spice was off the charts and I cannot wait to see what happens next in the series!

It’s us. It’s waves crashing onto the shore with a ferocity that I can’t explain. Her lips are my safe haven. They want to know all the places I have been damaged and heal them.

DNF 19% ... it’s not bad and I’m sure it’ll end up being an okay read, but I’m just so bored, I quit! My pet peeves are too many flashbacks, and too much inner monologue and this has both in spades so I’m out

I absolutely loved loved this story. I love those kind of stories where they suck you in from start to finish and this story had me hooked from the 1st page. Valor has been in love with Bishop since she was 10 years old and he was the rookie on the Chicago Fury hockey team at 18 the team her father coached. These 2 had a friendship that blossomed into more despite the age difference. I had to laugh at some of the thing's that were said between team mates and between Bishop and Preston oh man that was to funny, because guy's just don't have a filter. This story just flowed from one word into the other I didn't want it to end I felt like they were family. This is book 1 in the hockey series from Monty and I can't wait to read the next.
