It loses part of its rating for Elizabeth being so annoying. The plot is what if Lady Catherine didn’t tell Darcy Elizabeth refused to swear she wouldn’t marry him. In canon, when Lady Catherine tells Darcy, he proposes and Elizabeth accepts. In this Elizabeth doesn’t know how she feels or if she’ll accept him for much of the book, which makes no sense. She doesn’t tell her father that a neighbor threatened to compromise her to force her into marrying, which is a stupid decision. And after infuriating someone who’s made her uncomfortable and threaten to compromise her, she decides to go for a walk alone in the wood, which is even more idiotic. The book was decent, but Elizabeth was irritating.

Another gem from Jann Rowland. He has a gift.
During a time in my personal life of far too much stress, I find his stories to be gentle LYBATD (leave your brain at the door) escapisms. Even better that they retell in variation, the love story of such beloved characters.
I wonder what JR would make of a Persuasion Variation?
