She literally did nothing wrong, but okay...

Fr I will always be impressed with how explicitly gay this is (Carmen Maria Machado's introduction in the edition she wrote was very enlightening and worthwhile).

I am also impressed how this vampire mythos endures — the powers, the seduction, the outstanding beauty (wait, maybe that was just Carmilla lol). I think it's very modern, and it's a personal favorite vampire type. Carmilla being cosmically limited to only using anagrams of her name is hilarious, btw.

Also... Some of her character (the disdain for God, the quick and intense infatuation for Laura, the loneliness and search for companionship) reminded me of AMC!Lestat a bit.

Next stop, Carmilla/Laura tag on AO3. They deserve to prevail.
