I will never be done thinking about the quote "Perhaps it is the prisoned infinite in us calling out to its kindred infinite as expressed in that visible perfection."

Love love love this book.

As little as I enjoyed 'Anne of Windy Poplars', as much did I enjoy 'Anne's House of Dreams'.

The first 1/3 of the book was just happiness, no big things happened. Normally I don't like that, but I couldn't help myself loving it this time. How else could I, when Anne is literally living my dreams too!

Some of her old friends, like Diana get a mention too, something I missed in the previous book.
The newly introduced people were also really loveable. Captain Jim is probably one of my favorite characters from this series.

"Joy and grief, birth and death, had made sacred forever this little house of dreams."

Another pleasant read, this time set in a village on the harbor where Anne and Gilbert set up their first home together. Sweet, funny, sad and wise. It's the 5th book in the Anne of Green Gables series.
