I didn't enjoy this one as much, probably because there wasn't really any one character for me to me latch onto and enjoy, which is my reading style. Still, quite well-done.

The way the first book ends, you know you’re going to get more of the same storylines in a sequel, BUT, the amount of story of Thibor we get in this one was a surprise to me. It’s also impressive how exciting a novel Lumley manages here when his main character is incorporeal the entire time.

Generally, this one expands greatly on the titular species and opens up the universe of the novels to the myriad directions it’s about to go in.

A super fun installment in the Necroscope series! This one deals with the vampires Thibor and Faethor Ferenczy in more detail, giving us their backgrounds as vampires. Their stories are fascinating, while also portraying them as the cruel monsters they are. This book also sees an unlikely alliance between Alec Kyle and the new head of the Russian E-branch, as they join forces to destroy the Vamphyri!
