'Its only 60 pages and its a comic, this'll be a quick read!' And then i remembered that i was reading it because my French is not very good and i'm trying to improve it haha

So not quick. And a fair bit of google translate to confirm my understanding or completely undo it :)

I remember reading many of these (in english) as a kid for library summer reading challenges but perhaps not this one. Didnt realise that it wasnt a self contained story and the resolution is presumably in the next volume (which i think i did actually read?).

None of this is actually a review yet. The art is beautifully simplified down to its most essential elements, the character expressions are great, Hergé absolutely deserves his reputation as a master. Very excellent page where Nestor tries not to drop a tray. Also loved Milou (definitely a better name than Snowy although i'm sure i prefer Calculus to Tournesol) in the helmet. In some ways feels like a bit of a filler volume because of the slightly mundane setting and that lack of resolution. Also they seem to live in a world where women don't exist? I exaggerate but there are very very few female characters in this story

The mysterious flame inspires intrigue in all the characters. Well-executed build-up that captures the attention of the reader. Classic adventure with light humour. A blend of suspenseful supernatural. Captain Haddock's change in appearance signifies economic class and ancestral loyalties. Expands on Tintin's flat character through the interactions of characters that grow. Conveniently entertaining, eerie atmosphere, and a clear parallel between myth and science. Serves a chilled delay in astuteness. Recommended for whomever yearns for a satisfying rising action.
"But the curse of the gods will be as their shadow and pursue them over land and sea."

I like these later Tintin stories more than the first stories. I think the newer stories has more comfy vibes and the characters are more likable. The story is entertaining but not world-changing. Herge's drawing style is enjoyable.

La momie inca fait toujours autant flipper ! ^^
Un bon tome, l'histoire est vraiment intrigante et c'est sympa de voir des personnages croisés dans des tomes précédents.
