So I read this prequel before starting the main series. I thought it was ok. The first half was pretty bland but the second half picked up a bit.

I read through this book super quickly for me. It’s my first foray back into the world of fantasy since I was a young reader. I can definitely see the appeal. I’m excited that this seems to be the least enjoyed of all the TOG books so that’s fun! I look forward to reading the next ones.

Celaena is a dumbass. And irritating. All of the plot twists were pretty predictable and the plot was sort of sloppy. I am looking forward to reading Throne of Glass though.
