I throughly enjoyed this book and I am eager to start the throne of glass series. I was hooked and invested in many of the chatacters, some of which i hope will return. Celaenas fate had me almost in tears and
oh Sam . I wonder what sort of life they could have lived together.

3.5 stars as of just finishing it but that is subject to change in the next coming days whilst i think about the book.

i will preface this by saying i read this after reading Heir of Fire.

this book was definitely easier to understand and enjoy after reading the first 3 books of the series since some of the characters had been mentioned before. that also means it had a much greater emotional impact because there was already that context from other books plus i had grown to care about Celaena and where her journey brings her.

this book was really enjoyable to read until the last story in it where i was immensely stressed because i knew the fate of one of the characters already. the other stories are great to learn about since they are mentioned briefly in passing in other books and shows some of the cool adventures and also morose treatment Celaena was used to and endured before meeting Dorian and Chaol in Throne of glass.

after reading Heir of Fire and this, I am a lot more excited about reading the next installments of the series.
