Well that was...fairly incoherent. It has a certain style, and I'm a sucker for Batman - Constantine banter, but mostly this was just dark without answers. ⚠️nudity, gore

Great art, but the story is just a pointless string of walk-on-cameos and tons of naration that is trying so hard to sound deep and insightful by talking about, like, you know, angels and demons and, like, sin... you know, deep stuff like that!

I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this. Also, I realy enjoyed the way Superman looked in this.

Batman can be such a grump and I liked how well that was portrayed in this retelling of a classic Christmas tale.

A wonderfully dark Dark Knight story, and the art is a perfect fit. In a supernatural setting, Batman, with the help of a few 'friends', shines. In the end, he makes a choice but is he right? After the fact, would even Kant answer yes?

In a very specific way, this story directly contradicts the end of 'Batman Begins'
Spoiler, the scene where Batman leaves Ra's al Ghul to die, through inaction
. It also asks an important question: what is one responsible for, either by direct action or indifferent inaction? Any story that makes me ponder big questions are awesome and greatly appreciated. I think Batman is a perfect vehicle for such stories, he is often treading a fine line on any given situation. Different people will interpret his actions in different ways, it's never clear cut with him and that will always generate interesting discussions.

I really like the 'deal' Bruce made
Spoilerwith Enchantress
. Did she give him fearlessness in return for his not shedding a single tear when... when he clearly wanted to? And what to say about Batman's ultimate choice? He stays true to himself, yes, but at what cost?

Batman is awesome, '[b:A Christmas Carol|12989944|A Christmas Carol|Charles Dickens|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1356075922l/12989944._SY75_.jpg|3097440]' is awesome, the fusion of both is unsatisfying. The mirroring of Bruce's life to Scrooge's fails miserably because nothing Bruce does, after his so-called change, is any different from what he would have done without that transformation. I really appreciate the effort and, with some bending and stretching of any semblance of reasonable thought, it sorta works, but don't dig too deep.

The choice of 'spirits' is perfect, specially the harbinger. As for Bermejo's version of the 'Ghost of Christmas Present', it's simply magical. The comment about his eyes is all I need to know about this gentle giant, it's that impressive.

The artwork is out of this world, it's alive, crisp, gorgeous and fits with the feel of this graphic novel... just wow!

Despite the wonky retelling, this is good Batman story. It's just not an effective 'Batman Carol'.

The artwork is amazing for this, but the story felt very lacklustre and that not much was accomplished by the end.
