I read this back in my church going days, in fact I remember reading it at a young womans activity once and I was scandalized by the use of the f word. This was my first book with such strong words in it. I think back on this and laugh at my child self.

I don't say this often but...the film is better than the book.
The book lacks the chemistry of the film.
It was an easy read. But kinda...boring, despite the subject matter.

This read was a long time coming. Like most, I loved the film, Just Like Heaven (2005), this was based on. There are many similarities and differences between the book and the film. And while I did enjoy the book for what it was, I think the pacing and character developments work better in the film. Now I do wonder if the difference in translations might be an explanation as to the flow and voice of the story. Even with the film having cheesy moments too, I can firmly say it was just a bit more romantic and heartwarming than this book. But the story concept has always intrigued me, and I'm glad I finally managed to read it.

This is too much of a romance novel for me too like it. It's about Arthur who moves into a new appartement. In his closet he finds a woman. She turns out to be the previous inhabitant who had a terrible accident and is in a coma. The woman he sees in his appartment is only her spirit. He falls in love and when the hospital is proposing euthanasia he sets out to save her.
The story has good parts: some funny stuff. But also terrible passages concerning the police investigation. Very much a charicature and absolutely unreadable.
