I finished it! (Kinda. Skipped some paragraphs and chapters not relevant right now for me.) A review will follow. Probably.

Had to read a chapter of this for a Literature course. It's well written, has a lot of truly interesting points and is also a fun read, so I might get back to it in the future. The only thing that didn't make me want to read the whole work right away is the excessive number of examples and quotations – much more than what I think would be necessary to get the point through. Overall, I believe this can be a useful book to have on your shelf when in search of some cues for the analysis of a work of literature or the creation of your own, but one risks to get lost in it.

A text does not exist of the text itself. Sounds trivial, but it's often forgotten.
