As a kid, I found this to be a very disappointing sequel.  The whole idea that in trying to clean up a mess, you keep making things messier, I found pretty disturbing.  Perhaps I was particularly sensitized to the issue of environmental pollution as I probably read this as a child in the late '60's.

The first book was definitely better than this one. I never read Dr. Seuss books when I was younger although I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one, I still would have enjoyed this book when I would have been a child.
