This one started slow for me and while I liked Quinn (He's a shapeshifting TIGER for frigs sake) I was a little exhausted from Sookie's admirers, but that only lasted briefly as the mystery began to develop, and that in it's essence is what these Sookie Stackhouse books are. They are mysteries in a supernatural setting and they are so much fun. I have two more sitting here to read, but I can't imagine not finishing the series at this point.

Weak, foofy, just so not up to the standard of the previous installment.

The more I read of this series, the more I like it. I find myself drawn to the characters. This novel takes both the mythos and the action to a deeper level of intensity, and there isn't a boring moment. I definitely feel like I'm right there with Sookie, feeling what she feels, experiencing what she experiences.
I love how cleverly wound together everything is, and I'm looking forward to the next installment!

Once again, Sookie ends up being a damsel in distress and relies on others to get her out of it, but at lease in this one she was able to figure who did what and for what reason, before it was too late. I do think that the vampire queen of Louisiana owes her and we'll see what happens next.
