I enjoyed a previous trilogy with similar themes, so I gave this one a try but even though I listened to the entire book, It was just ok. I honestly don't care what happens next so won't be reading the other books

WOW, I was taken by surprise at how much I love this story. I love the supernatural element that comes with the story and the girls using their abilities to help others at crime scenes.

The residents of Fogg Lake are able to read auras and some can do more, see a glimpse of the future, "feel" a patch of cold indicating a recent death, some other supernatural things. Catalina and Olivia witnessed a murder when they were younger in one of the Fogg Lake cave systems that has it's own secrets. No one believed them, but 15 years someone has decided that what they saw needs to stay hidden, truth or not, so Olivia is kidnapped. Catalina is lucky enough to meet Slater who works for the Foundation and saved her.

Together they search for Olivia, discover why someone needs them and what happened to the lab in Fogg Lake that supposedly exploded into bits.

It was a good story -- not sure where this fits in with Arcane/J&J, etc. Enjoyed it. Would read the next book.

The character development was awful. The storyline/mystery rolled out like a Scooby Do episode. There was even a bad guy in disguise.
