This is one of the Worst Witch books that made me the most emotional, right after All At Sea. <I'm really glad that Ethel finally got called out and couldn't get away with it any longer.> Mildred finally gets to prove herself and if like me, that's what you've wanted from the very start, it's defenetly worth reading the other books to get to this one.

This book broke my heart and had me in tears. Ethel is such a horrible bully.

The final Worst Witch book, and I have to say that Mildred very much comes into her own in this one. This is the book of the series where a lot of hte characters' traits are made very exeternal. It was once again,a cute, sweet and enjoyable read. I'm so glad I picked up these books as easy reading during my final essays.

Okay, as much as I am enjoying these books I do think they need to chill it a bit with Evil Ethel and Miss Hardbroom who both seem to have it out for Mildred, and despite everything that’s previously happened, no one ever believes Mildred. I can barely think of any occasions where she’s lied in the previous books but Ethel has lied in every single one and she rarely gets a punishment for it!! It’s just a little irksome.

Other than that I really enjoyed this story and thought Mildred’s spell was brilliant!

I really like that these books actually progress rather than all of them being the same. I feel like a lot of chapter books seem to be like episodes and no one gets older and its basically the same book over and over. However, with this one you can see that Mildred is getting better and people are starting to see the good in her. Even HB!

A wonderful read from my childhood, one I’d certainly suggest for other youngsters. Whilst it is not my all-time favourite childhood read I can still recall all the details of this one meaning it certainly left a lasting impression upon my young mind.

And isn’t that what we want with children’s books, for them to leave a positive lasting impression?

Sometimes you just need to read children's books.

I adore Mildred Hubble and I adore this series. It's been lovely reading about Miss Cackle's Academy again over the past 2 days. And the books are just the right length to read during a lunch break. A wonderful little series that I cannot recommend enough.
