An enjoyable short read. I don't usually read Christmas books in September, but am getting the series from the library when they can get them.

A short and cozy Christmas book. 🎄 Loved the descriptions of the winter weather and Christmas decorations. Karon perfectly portrays the anticipation of Christmas. A comfort read.

This was the PERFECT Christmas book. Not too sappy, not cheesy. Just the perfect amount of Christmas charm. I've not read any of the other Mitford books, but now I'm going to go back and start at the beginning.

I really tried to finish this book, but it just didn't catch my attention. I have enjoyed other books that jumped back and forth between characters, but this one was too confusing for me to keep up. Perhaps if I started with the first book in the series, I would have enjoyed it better. The main story of Father Tim refurbishing the nativity scene was just too slow for me. However, this does not in any way stop me from continuing on my Christian fiction quest.

Always a wonderful and light-hearted read. When I first started this book, I thought there might be a ghost writer because it didn't feel like Karon's writing. However, as it progressed, the familiar comforts of Mitford set in. On to the 9th book!

Book # 8 of 9 books in the Mitford series. Christmas is coming and Father Tim Kavanaugh has a special project he is working on as a surprise for his wife, Cynthia. She, meanwhile, has a surprise in store for him as well. As we continue to follow the residents of Mitford in their holiday preparations it becomes clear that the best gifts are those that come from God.

It is always heartwarming and comforting to visit Mitford, especially around Christmas. I had not read Esther's Gift or The Mitford Snowmen before and enjoyed them too. John McDonough is a great narrator.
