I received an advanced copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars: This is my third read from Diana Gardin. I have to say this was not my favorite of hers. My biggest issue was that the even the heroine learned how to take care of herself, she made some bad decisions in the name of keeping someone safe. Some of her decisions are what dropped it down from a 4 for me. I got hung up on them.

Like with the previous book, the two main characters fall pretty hard pretty fast and didn't take much convincing to take the relationship to the next level. The book is definitely more romance that romantic suspense. But hey, sexy military men who can also be cuddly work.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Franny is on the run from her abuse ex husband and Ryder is her security detail. One thing leads to another and they develop a sexual relationship. I was a bit disappointed with how quick their relationship became sexual especially since Franny is still wary of men hurting her like her ex. But the sexual chemistry between them is hot and Ryder is your typical alpha, possessive and sweet knight in shining armor constantly coming to her rescue.
Pleasantly good read.

Overall Opinion:
With a series blurb like this I had anticipated an action-packed suspense romance novel and this unfortunately failed to meet my expectations. Generally speaking it wasn't a bad read and I did passably enjoyed it. It could've just been better. Besides the plot that was passable, the characters left much to be desired. I didn't sense a real connection between them besides sexual and obviously feelings caught on quick which was a disappointment. Ultimately I had decided to drop this series since it stopped peaking my interest and will place it in my maybe-definitely pile for the unforeseen future.

Ryder is the second instalment of Diana Gardin’s Delta Squad and brings us the story of Ryder and Frannie. This book touches on some really sensitive subjects and tugs at your heartstrings time and time again. It has the perfect balance action and romance. Frannie and Ryder are fantastic together and their chemistry is off the charts.

This was a fabulous story packed with danger, romance, love, camaraderie, real life issues and the strength that comes from letting someone into your heart, to share your pain and then rising above it to ultimately forge a future together.

This was truly an amazing book and I am so glad to have discovered Diana Gardin as an author and read the fabulous stories she writes. I am looking forward to reading more from this talented author.

It is a story of family, friendships, heart break and betrayal. The premise is real, raw and engaging; the romance is captivating and intense; the characters are energetic and colorful but I struggled with the heroine’s constant need to remain independent in spite of the struggle and ongoing threats against her life.
