Ikke en av Roald Dahls beste, muligens fordi den er blottet for alle humoristiske skildringer som jeg synes er noe av det beste med mine favorittbøker av ham.

Listened to this as I was wondering round the supermarket. It was ok, not his best work but I liked it more than the twits

I remember finding this book terrifying as a kid. My 6-year-old daughter must be made from tougher stuff than me as she didn't find it scary at all!

Had it for 5 years or so and never read. One of my teacher friends fave Roald Dahl books. I'm not so sure.... (although I am obviously not the main target audience!)
Very easy going. Nice magical elements. Bits thst recall back to other RD characters & story element

I somehow missed this short story from Roald Dahl during my childhood. It is a fun short read with the usual Dahl silliness: Fabulous made up words, tiny creatures, an ill-defined monster that is somehow more monstrous because of the lack of clarity.
I was a bit worried at the start that it was going to be weirdly religious with the mysterious "forest of Sin" that Billy was forbidden to enter and no-one ever returned from

Beware, beware the Forest of Sin,and the mother's constant questioning "Are you being GOOD Billy?" but after the introduction the religious overtones disappeared and this became just a very Roald Dahl story.
None come out, but many go in
