Overly silly, even by the standards of a Munsch book. Not your typical animal book nor your typical my mom is having a baby book. Kind of like a twisted mix. But the twist came too early.

Alligator Baby was another book I very much enjoyed when I was younger. Robert Munsch has very good books that I still remember reading. Alligator Baby is about a family that happens to find out that they brought home an alligator baby. The big brother couldn't believe it. In the end, the big brother met his human sibling, after they took the alligator baby to the zoo.

The characters in Robert Munsch's books are never the wisest, much to comical effect, however the parents in Alligator Baby take cluelessness to new heights. They don't realize they're bringing home animal babies rather a human one? It takes their young daughter to figure it out each time? I mean, would kiddos still laugh their heads off at this repetitive, humorous plot? Sure. But it doesn't have the same flair as say, [b:Stephanie's Ponytail|285740|Stephanie's Ponytail|Robert Munsch|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348256170s/285740.jpg|3302964].
