It only took me two years. Now I'm left speechless.

Already after the first book, Artemis starts to grow on you, and continues to do so throughout the series - but I could never have anticipated how much. Which is probably good, or else I might not have thought the series half as good.

This is Artemis' last stand. It's packed with action, humor and emotion throughout. I am years older now than when I first encountered Artemis, and by some standards considered too old for this kind of literature, but Artemis and his friends still get to me, and I'm glad.

I just wish I had given this book more time to take hold, instead of pacing through. Guess I'll just have to read it a few more times.

Wow. What a fantastic ending to a wonderful series. I do wonder how much of our enjoyment can be directly attributed to Nathaniel Parker's narration. His voice-acting is amazing and I cannot read Butler, Opal, Foley - all the voices - without hearing the tones and accents he gave them. But I also loved the character development of Artemis over the series, not to mention the many other characters., and the incredibly deep and layered world the series has made. My daughter and I are hunting down the spin-off series featuring the twins as we are too sad to leave this world.

This is the perfect ending to a glorious series. I wouldn't want it any other way. It's explosive and thrilling from cover to cover. I loved the Fowl twins; can we have a book around them? Or just LEP in general - I need more Foaly and his lady in my life. I have a feeling Colfer isn't returning to the world of Artemis Fowl any time soon, judging by all the sequels he's writing to his other series - but if that's true, that's actually all right. The end of this book was awesome and really puts the entire series in a new light, if you choose to believe that
SpoilerHolly has been telling the story of Artemis from the beginning the entire time
, which I do.
