This is one of the stronger series installments. The story explores Keisha's frustration with her family responsibilities, which she sees as unimportant, and during her trip through the magic mirror, she connects with her West African heritage and learns to value her contributions at home. The story is simple, but it is very well-paced, and Keisha learns important life lessons in a way that is integral to the plot.

The story also includes some Bantu words, with a glossary in the back to define them, and an informational note at the end shares map images and historic details related to the part of Africa that Keisha visited. The information is now outdated, but I appreciate how this book included real-world information instead of leaving readers to guess what was real and what was imagined.

Keisha Leads the Way (Magic Attic Club #12) by Teresa Reed - I'm pretty sure the magic attic was prepping Keisha to be president or something! Happy Reading!
