While the twists were not that mind-blowing, The Night Shift was still pretty entertaining especially when read by listening to the audiobook. I think the narrators did a fantastic job that added to the reading experience. It had a lot of elements into it: the last survivor of brutal murders, the brother of the murder suspect, and the FBI agent trying to figure out the mystery of both past and present murders. Additionally, I liked the writing style as well. I’ve been meaning to get into Alex Finlay’s books and now I’m even more curious about their other works.

The way this story was told was what kept me turning the pages. Because the story was "wrapped up" in 37 pages I knew we were going to do a deep dive into everyone and everything and I was here for it. This story is heavy on the police investigation side of things so keep that in mind when considering picking this up. What bumped a star down was the unbelievable ending - it just got silly IMO and throughout some things came together a little "too conveniently" which is not to say that the huge twist didn't shock me. I 100% didn't see it coming.
