This was everything I wanted from a prequel.

I mean, the guys are hot hot hot together, there is some plot (which, tbh, was a filler but still great), the introduction to the MC was also intriguing. And our MCs were two lovable dorks.

Perfunctory. I finished it because I was engaged, and I always want the origin story, but it never delivered on its promise. Presumably intended as an appetizer.
