I was forced to read this crap before entering my junior year of high school. It has subsequently proven to be all bunk. Many of the anecdotes that he writes in other language editions of the book contradict or are different.

He also does not have the prisoner number tattoo that he claims to have had in the story.

This book like much of the holohoax narrative is all based on lies.

It's strange to rate this, considering. I don't have words for it- just numbness.

How to even review this book? A terrible, haunting recollection of the author’s experience at Auschwitz. Definitely worth reading.

I did not know what to expect when I kept seeing this book emerge in articles and on book shelves and in conversations but I always take that as a sign that I need to read the book right now. I filled it up with notes - mood, tone, foreshadowing - I would teach this in a second, if I taught middle school. We should all read Wiesel's Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech; deeply relevant for why the Holocaust must be studied today and for the rest of time.

This book was very good. It explained so much. All the horrors and terrible things people had to go through. I very much appreciate our freedoms in America.

This was a gut punch of a book. Don’t be fooled by how tiny in size this book is. This was an incredibly tough read but I feel like everyone should read it. This had me crying, one of the most incredible holocaust books I’ve read.
