Good spicy scenes, but the characters were kind of boring to me until about halfway through. I was really annoyed with the choices that the FMC made over and over again. It just came across super childish. Like almost high school mentality stuff but she’s in her 20s and apparently an intelligent college student. It just grated on me when she did certain things. I also was annoyed with the brother and his immovable stance on stuff. I just don’t think I was obsessed with any character in this.

“First off, don’t be an ass about my Grinch pajamas. They’re cute.”
This is my second Sheridan Ann book, and she can’t do any wrong. Love her writing style, and she knows how to keep the book interesting. This wasn’t the first brother’s best friend romance, but it is the most interesting one I have read so far.
In the beginning it was funny and light, it got a little bit more dark and that’s why it hold my interest. I love the way Izaac was struggling with his feelings and Aspen full hardiness and not giving up on him.
Was it the best book I have been reading from Sheridan no. Pretty monster is still my favorite. But this is a very good second!

Sheridan Anne does it time and time again. Honestly no one writes chemistry and spice like Sheridan and I eat it up every single time! Aspen and Izaac grew so much and I loved them every step of the way!

This book had potential and ruined it all. The gist of “teach me what my body can do” is intriguing but we get like 2-3 scenes of pretty vanilla spiciness, then claims that Izaac has taught her everything but we don’t get to hear about it. The plot with the brother being an absolute jerk to her is wild and stupid.
Also I was waiting for some Haunting Adapting levels of kidnapping or harm to the mfc that would reveal a dark side to Izaac and THATS why her brother was freaking out, but then Izaacs only problem is some seemingly mild childhood trauma that could absolutely be worked through. I wouldn’t waste your time here.

Aspen: what a doormat. The way she keeps tossing herself repeatedly at this guy is just so desperate. Then she lets her brother get away with telling her who she should and shouldn’t be sleeping with and how to live her life. Where’s the self respect?
Austin: what a douche.. probably one of the biggest I’ve ever read. His relationship with his sister is too much. Why are they talking about dildos with each other? 🤢 And why does he get a say so on who she’s with? She’s an adult.
Izaac: was pretty much what saved this book for me. Except for his horrible overuse of the word “Birdy” I found him to be a pretty sexy MMC.
The spice was nicely done. But, I felt the book was about 100 pages too long and the constant back and forth became boring.

This was the most recent Book Club choice, and this really was a spicy 💦 read.
Aspen, our FMC, has crushed on her older brothers best friend, Izaac, since day one. Her crush turned into absolute obsession & longing as she got older. He avoided it & didn't really play into it because he came from a broken home and "doesn't know how to love."
She goes to an underground sex club & gives her V away to a stranger in a dark room. She has the best experience ever and is addicted. Turns out, it's Izaac.
These two go back & forth quite a bit, but like it was hot between them. I don't understand why the *dark romance* trope is because the darkest thing about it was:
1. She stalked while walking home from the bar, and if Izaac didn't show up when he did, she likely would have been assaulted, if not worse.
2. She ended up in the same dark room with a predator who tried to force himself on her & in self-defense, she unalived him.
Now, those are dark scenarios, but it's not the bulk of the book, yanno?
There was a good amount of actual plot, which was great.
Her brother was a twatwaffle if I've ever read of one.
