Intense, dark omegaverse romance which is filled with emotion and mystery. This is a very well developed and written story with great suspense and danger. Leigh and Peter have heated chemistry between them.

My Review

I enjoyed this one a lot and will now definitely be reading other stuff by this author in the future.
This is omegaverse and it was done very well it was also quite explicit which is as you would expect from this particular genre and I did especially appreciate this.

It’s set in a modern society but with alpha omega and beta dynamics in place.
Leigh a reporter presents during an electoral candidacy press conference catching the attention of all in attendance including mayor candidate Peter Leod.

This brings her fully to his attention and he definitely wants to know more, there’s danger and heat and also some added dark themes and it really was such an easy page-turner.
Peter a liberal has up until now has tried to suppress his alpha instincts but Leigh’s arrival in his life changes all that bringing all of his aggression and protective instincts to the forefront.

It was really well written and though not a very long read it delivered on all fronts.
If you’ve read this genre type before you’ll know just what to expect if not just a heads up it gets very dirty, but it still has a fully developed story arc running through.
Definitely recommend this one if you like omegaverse that’s not too dark.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Alpha (Alpha Ties #1).

This was actually pretty sweet for an omegaverse and I really liked that. I would have probably leaned towards 5 stars had this not contained one of my least favorite tropes.
Leaving her for her own good. If I could magically wipe that dumb trope from the romance universe I’d do it without a second thought. Authors, I beg you to stop using that in your plots. It’s super not alpha so it especially doesn’t belong in omegaverse.

FWIW, the separation in this is practically non-existent. He tells her they won’t see each other anymore. Safety blah blah blah

Unique take on the Alpha/omega dynamic. The ending was a little flat. I'm glad I read it as a whole book, not a broken up one.

*Received an ARC from Hiddengems. My review is my own.

I did not like this book at all.  There were just to many sex crimes that the book normalized on top of making women out to be nothing .The book starts out with attempted rape and the fact that it was written as accepted. Then there is the fact that they are forced to make a sex tape.  The whole book was in my opinion horrible and if my OCD let me DNF a book I would have. 😤

I've read a couple of Omegaverse books before.  The first couple were great & where for the most part the omega is cherished.  But the past two including this one have had some elements that have just rubbed me the wrong way.  This is not saying that this story is bad.  It's not, and I've read a lot of dark themed stories.  I personally struggle when an omega's body is consenting, but her brain isn't.  It's not something that she wants, but physically she can't control it.  Ultimately it leads her mind to almost "make her want it."  To me this is too much like rape and I don't enjoy that.  Not shaming anyone else that does.  Completely your prerogative.    That's why I won't reduce my star score based on this because I know that's completely preference and hopefully my review will help you decide if this is for you or not.

Aside from the above I did enjoy the story line, and how ultimately their relationship is shown. I really enjoyed what the alpha was willing to do to show that he cared for her, and the sacrifices they were both willing to make for each other.  It was, also, a fairly quick listen that I purchased from chirpbooks on sale.  I feel like my money was worth the purchase. I'm giving it 3.5 stars.

The haranguing and attempted rape in the first part of this book is harrowing. The other sex, although consensual is a bit much for me. There is also a kidnapping forced sex scene that is pretty repulsive.
The relationship between the two MCs is instalove based on sex and chemistry.
It’s a short book so I decided to keep listening but it was a waste of time.
