I think this was the worst one in the series. I didn't like that the first few chapters were all sex. But I can't say I didn't enjoy the last few chapters which made me look forward to the next book. Overall, it was OK.

"Ladies and Gentlemen please fasten your seatbelts. We are going through some turbulences so please return to your seat and fasten your seatbelts. The turbuluences should be pass soon."

*hour later*

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please do not panic. We appear to be stuck in a storm. However the pilot is doing his best to get us out. Remain in your seats until further notice."

*20 minutes later*

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sorry to inform you that we will be crash landing. Do not panic, safety protocols are in place in case of events like this. Everything will be fine."

This series is the plane, and I am the reluctant, trying to survive, passenger. Hamilton, pull us out of this storm.

While this series is definitely not answering as many questions as I would like, I am still enjoying the magic system and world building, as well as the actual prose. Plot holes and slow progression aside, there is enough to keep my curiosity peaked and continue.

To be honest I don't know why this book is called Mistral's Kiss, when Mistral himself plays such a minor role. He is there throughout the book, but the plot follows much of the same formula as the previous entries. Sure it's spicy and enticing and I do enjoy seeing how Merry reacts to the new men in her life, but there seems to be so little in terms of the overarching story.

Merry and her men don't seem to be making much progress in terms of development either. Yes, there are new/old but long since seen characters and most have a crucial moment with Merry, but there are simply too many pieces and not enough progress. I honestly could not say I understood what the plot of this book was.

That said, the elements of the world building and lore are fantastic. What they all add up to, I can't quite say, but they make for great inspiration and references to fans of fae lore. I'm going to keep going because curiosity compels me, though I think I will be lowering my expectations in terms of progression and development.

This book takes place over an even shorter timeline than the last one: only a couple of hours I think? Maybe my least favorite so far. Aside from further incorporating Mistral and Sholto into the boyfriend squad and some more magic stuff, not a whole lot happened. Excited to see how adding two new people even further fucks with the relationship dynamics though!

I don't understand why she has to insert a book in her series that is just porn. From beginning to end it's just sex. After reading the first 4 books she clearly has a great imagination and ability an enjoyable book. If she wants to write porn , then she should , just keep it out of these series.

The series evolves in this installment, delving deeper into the consequences of Meredith's choices. The complexities of the faerie world are explored further, and the narrative skillfully weaves together themes of love, power, and destiny.

After I took the recommendation of my little sister and tore through the Anita Blake books available and headed to the Library and grabbed the Merry Gentry books as well ...  I grabbed the first few books, hoping I would like them like I did with the Anita books.  Not really a Surprise; I LOVED THEM!  I tore through them in a few weeks and then read them as they became available until I finished them ALL!

Grab them they are great!

TW for Book: Sex, Violence and threats of SA/Rape.

Definitely a favorite among the series. I’d give it 6 stars if I could. Relationships with Mistral and Shalto pick up in this book. Merry has started to figure out who she loves and is willing to let go of and see happiness being put on their face by another and who she wishes desperately to keep- even knowing only 1 may stay in the end. Power has become a huge obstacle in this book- being unpredictable and unprecedented. Mistral is a favorite character of mine. The touches of BDSM in their scene is tantalizing and intriguing. His power and personality gives a lot to the imagination. But I am always voting for a throuple between Doyle, Frost and Merry.
