So what everyone thinks about Galen is true, making him King would be the downfall of there people. Thanks to him Cel has broken out of his "prison sentence" and Merry and the rest of her men are heading back to L.A. The next book should be interesting......

A book worthy of staying up all night to read!
I can’t believe how fast I read this! I am a mom of two and it’s a very rare night when I let myself stay up so late reading anymore, but it happened with this one! I read this book in about 12 hours!! Sleep included!!
I love this series more with every book!! Even though this is my umpteenth re-read, I fall more in love with it every time!

This book has made me feel passion, beauty, and sadness. I haven't even finished this book and I had to write a review. For some this series might seem awkward with all the sex and sharing but, the overall story entrapped me. The writing is so detailed, so very poetic

Re-read review:
I couldn't remember why I didn't like this book, since I didn't have any original notes. Now I remember.
This book is nothing but sex scenes for the first half. I mean, yeah, all of the Merry Gentry series features heavily on the sex, but this one seems to do nothing to advance the plot but is just slightly related, extraordinarily long sex scenes. Which is fine, I guess, but not what I'm looking for in this series (nor what I'm used to - the frequency really did change in this book).
HOWEVER the second half (maybe more like 1/3 - 1/4?) of the book is all plot and is excellent. It feels a bit like her editor ignored the first half and made Hamilton put all the meat of the story into the second.
So, skim the first half, read the second.

This is another re-listen for me. It is a pretty quick read/listen. This one takes place in fairy. It is another book with a large amount of sex in it. This is not surprising as the entire plot of the series is for Merry to get pregnant.

I liked the Gentry books over Blake in retrospect but they're all pretty pants. I think Hamilton is so popular and sells so much because she is the modern day bodice ripper coupled with Anne Rice. They are poorly written (just wait till you read Shiver of Light!) and monotonous (particularly the sex - mostly the sex). As a Crayola crayon collector and huge fan of symmetry, the Gentry books appeal to me on that level; all the descriptions of eye and hair color, the perfect blend & balance when it comes to the babies and their fathers, the names of the fae and their associated abilities/powers. I really enjoyed reading all these trivial bits but a good read they do not make. For mindless enjoyment it gets 2 stars. Just don't expect satisfaction.
