I enjoyed this book throughout, and found the podcast format an interesting way of sharing information about Violet. Ultimately, the ending couldn't live up to the tension that had been built (and was kind of weird), though I'm not sure what ending would have been more satisfying. I went back and forth between e-book and audio, and audio was a great way to plow through unpacking!

A compelling and quick read about sisterhood and the paths you can take in life, told through the story of an iconic magician and her unexplained disappearance during a show. A fun exploration of genre, the chapters are a mix of podcast transcripts, articles, emails, and more traditional chapters following the vanished magician’s sister. It also does an impressive job of making a magician’s tricks interesting to read about without giving away the “tricks.” Truly a feat!
