Cannot recommend the audio book enough. The production value really brings the mixed media element of the story to life!

Sasha grew up living in the shadow of her charismatic sister Violet. For as long as she came remember Violet was always the star in any way possible. She loved being the centre of attention and from childhood she had a fascination with magic. So it came as no surprise when Violet became a famous magician. Ten years ago Violet went from famous to infamous when she vanished, without a trace, mid-act one stage in from of an audience full of people. Since then Sasha has been hounded by fans, reporters, podcasters and so many others who have been fascinated by the disappearance of Violet Volk.

Sasha reluctantly teams up with Cameron Frank, a podcaster hoping to get his big break by solving the Violet Volk case. Sasha has found in the 10 years since Violets disappearance that even with the absence of her sister she can’t escape her orbit or the memories of their tumultuous relationship. Can Sasha and Cameron uncover the truth of what really happened a decade ago?

This book started out to well, after the first quarter of it I was certain it would going to be a five star rating. Unfortunately, it really lost its way with the story feeling a bit stagnate and repetitive at times. I did enjoy the chapters that focused on Violet in the past and how she became the famous magician she was when she disappeared. I’d previously read Oona Out of Order the author and had really enjoyed it so I went in with high expectations but this one just didn’t reach the same notes as that one. I enjoyed the podcast aspect, as I always find it interesting in books I read.
