IN. TENSE. Took me a while to get thru this one, but only because I was savoring the ride the Del Toro and Hogan took me on. A great, heart-pounding, distressing, and INSANE story, from start to finish! Can't wait to start the last book in this series!

Well this was disappointing. While the pace was probably similar to the first book, and there was a plot to it, the whole thing felt tedious. With this installment, the series took a turn from interesting horror story towards standard survivalist tale. I'm not really impressed.

A fun zombie/vampire (zompire? vambie?) action thriller. Quick-paced and interesting, a good summer read.

This book was a major disappointment. The first book in the series, Strain, had some promising scenes and some originality, but that was all sucked from these pages by cliche, plot cards, and a dizzying array of Point of View shifts so extreme that the reader could never be sure from whose eyes he was viewing a scene or even speaking dialogue. Horrendous.

A little slow to get started, but definitely picks up the pace. I got a little confused by all the new characters, but that's probably just me. So far, this trilogy is a great new take on the vampire tale. Loving it! Now....to wait for part 3.

3.5 stars. This one wasn’t as good as the first book - which I really enjoyed - but I feel like it has decently set up for the last book of the trilogy
