There is a lot about this book that I struggled to enjoy, struggled to grasp. But I have to admit the way Bell tied it all together in the end was clever and breathtaking.

OK, this is a high-concept piece of work and that author deserves some credit for pulling it off, but halfway though I no longer cared what happened to any of the characters and began skipping paragraphs, then skipping pages, then I gave up, read the Epilogue, and marked it read.

I have no quarrel with the many people who loved the book, but I found it unreadable. Wrong demographic, or something.

This book wasn’t my cup of tea, read like a classic ina a negative way BUT it was interesting!! I was confused half the time wondering what would happen next. A commentary on climate conservation, mixed in with the West’s imperialistic ideals including manifest destiny and biblical references. Weird.
