So I starting this book once upon a time because I thought the girl had my name, I was maybe 7 at the time so you'll have to forgive me. Finally finished this many years later and it wasn't as boring as I thought it was. It's very nice and simple. Molly is a normal girl growing up in the middle of WWII, her father is away and there is a mentioning of food rations. She doesn't like her brother and her older sister is acting like she's a grown up now (basic sibling stuff) while she can't figure out what she and her friends should be for Halloween.
There really isn't much else to say since it was so short but I liked it. It's about family and friends and getting along. I might read the rest of Molly's story. Good for young girls though I think people know that already.

Story about Molly McIntire as she grows up during WWII. Her father is in England serving as a doctor and her mom volunteers at the Red Cross.

[Rereading the American Girl books until I no longer have a serotonin deficit 1/7]
Molly really told her two best friends: “you can be the two ugly step sisters and I can be Cinderella for Halloween” ❤️ Like, pretty savage words coming from a girl in an argyle sweater

A dull and cringy introduction. Molly begins as a very unlikeable character with little personality. Hoping the books improve.

My second favorite American girl. I have always found this era fascinating, and love that it is presented in a kid friendly way. Showing more than the war but life around it as well, because even though all the pain life does move on. The way these families came together and gotten creative is truly amazing.

Meet Molly: An American Girl by Valerie Tripp – Out of all of the American Girl series, this one actually had a lot of information in at that I used on history tests as a girl. So use that information how you will! Happy Reading!

I loved this book as a child, and I still love it now. Rereading it has been a comfort during a particularly long January.

Molly is a spunky nine-year-old dealing with school, family, and friends on the homefront during WWII. The stories are fine and I like Katherine Kellgren as a narrator quite a bit. I'd recommend this audio collection to American Girl fans.
