It wasn't bad, but I was bored reading this. Just could not get into it. I felt like I was watching people play D&D with some paranormal creatures thrown in. The time travel wasn't badly done, the romance was good. Reading how Hoyt and Glenna interact given the cultural differences through time was amusing. If I could,have gotten drawn in I would have really enjoyed this book, there was just something about it that I didn't.

Meh... got this for free from the library. I didn't realize there would be no resolution at the end... it's just a lead-in for book 2. I prefer series books that have some kind of denouement, even though we know the overall storyline is TBC.

Compelling story, it's a fantasy first and a romance second and I appreciate that. I feel for the characters, even though I can't pronounce half their names. But the magic and whimsy lures you in so you will have to finish all three. Loved it.
