I like how the book takes on the House That Jack Built theme with the repetitive phrases and the accidents that can occur when checking out a library book. I think it's very important for kids to understand how to properly care for a library book and the author gives some tips at the end of the story. I loved the mixed media art and ADORED the librarian's book earrings (I have a pair myself) =) Very glad to have this book added to our children's collection!

A perfect book to share with young students during their first library class to discuss how to care for borrowed books.

Very similar to the house that Jack built style. I liked how there was a positive interaction with the librarian even though Jake damaged the book.

Great resource for teaching early elementary students about book care. I can’t imagine any kid reading this on their own.
