This book was not as strong as the previous books in the series. I think this one would’ve really benefitted from being dual POV. Ben’s POV would’ve helped balance out Gemma. One thing that I really struggled with was Gemma’s strong dislike for Ben, it honestly didn’t seem like the punishment fit his alleged crime when he started at the firm. I feel like Gemma was so harsh to him for most of the book. I wanted to see her open up more before the book’s end. During the 3rd act conflict I expected the two of them to open up more but it seemed pretty one sided. I just wanted more vulnerability from the characters like we got out of books 1 and 2. I am still looking forward to continuing on with the series. This book is really for fans of enemies to lovers with harsh banter.

A really enjoyable read! Gave me The Hating Game vibes and I'm always here for that 😉 I know that Gemma didn't land well with other reviewers but honestly that's just confirming her whole plotline was about: if Gemma was a male lawyer, you'd be all over her. But if she's a female lawyer who puts her career over everything? Well then she's just unlikeable.

I didn't like the plot development at the end and that really brought my rating down — the whole book was about Gemma being independent and making her own way in the law world but in the end it felt like Ben saved everything for her anyway. I know that's the romance plotline and I loved it for the romance!! it just didn't feel like it fit with the whole narrative. I'm really torn about it.

I loved Keelie as a side character and I'm so excited to read about her in the next book! 🥰

It's Elizabeth O'Roark so I knew it was going to be good.
I was a little disappointed when the dual POV I've come to expect disappeared after the first chapter but those bonus chapters after finishing were a delight. I still thoroughly enjoyed this story and I'm sure when the next Devil book is released I will once again be spending release day devouring it.
