This series is so fun! (Might be scary and intense for some kids). I am SO sad we have to wait until September for book 4.
I've listened to all the audiobooks. They used a new narrator on this one, and I was really scared it wasn't going to be great, but it was good. Maybe not as good as the original, but not distracting or anything. Sounded a little bit like Cary Elwes, which is never a bad thing.
One note on listening to the audiobooks: the codes aren't as fun. The narrator reads a big string of letters and you don't really get a good picture of how the codes work without looking at it all written out. Also, some of the codes are long so the narration of random-sounding letters can go on for quite a while.
But anyway, completely love this series. It's middle grade but not young middle grade. It's clever and fast paced the mysteries are so well done. This one had an ancient Knight's Templar curse & treasure hunt. Highly recommend.

So incredibly interesting! I loved this book so very much! Some points had me so nervous and scared,- just what a good book should do! This book was so perfect-suspenseful, lovable, and it had such an interesting plot! The Assassin's Curse is definitely one of my absolute favourite books of all time! This is for sure a re-read!

Conspiracy, spies, murder, mayhem, The Knights Templar! This book is great!
As a teacher, I also love how these books help kids to see what life was like before modern medicine, cell phones, and cars 😁

I just read another book called “The Assassin’s Curse” and I can definitely say this one was the better of the two.
Not only that, but this book is for sure the best in the series so far, improving on what was already great. More codes, more danger, more funny banter. Plus we get to see 1660s Paris!
It was also cool to see more of Sally, like her family and even just her having more involvement in the story. It felt like a very natural progression from book 2.
And MAN I do not know exactly when or how but this one got DARK…
I mean, that ending, for example…
Even the antagonists this time around were on a different level so it definitely seems like the series is developing a more mature tone :0

So I was definitely thrown off by the fact that the narrator is different in this audiobook. You get attached to a person doing the voices a certain way, so that was an adjustment. Once I got into it though the storyline was really interesting. I loved the shift to Templar lore and Christopher and the gang traveling to Paris. The new landscape added a lot to the adventure. I'm so happy that Sally has become a main character and that we got to learn more about her past in this installment, I'm curious to see how her character grows in the next book in the series. The ending of this one was definitely bittersweet and I'm looking forward to reading the fourth book. I thought it was the last one but I just saw that there is going to be a fifth book released this year! Exciting stuff!

as brilliant as the previous installments! i love this series so much. it hits all the right beats at all the right times- the humour, the emotion, the thrilling mystery, it's all there once more. so multi-faceted and amazing.
"wait... you're not actually going to burn me, are you?"
"of course i'm not going to burn you. why would you even ask me that?"
"don't sound so insulted. not like it hasn't happened before."
"that was once."
"it was twice."
"it was not tw- oh... right. be fair though, i didn't really set you on fire. just your breeches."
"do you know what's underneath my breeches?"
"unfortunately."
"then you know i don't want it burned! i'm tired of this stupid country, it's always aiming at my crotch."
