This is a very emotionally hard read, of a dystopia where nobody is happy with an overly controlling government. Still, the characters are lovable in their own ways and their story and hardships very compelling, I had to keep reading.

I really tried with this book, but it just did not click with me. I felt like the characters were all whiny, and the book just didn't quite hit right. There's almost like a gender role reversal happening in the way men are treated before a marriage, yet women aren't valued any more highly. I just felt really annoyed while reading, so I think it's time to give up.
