Interesting from a historical perspective but lacking in the contemporary sections and not particularly enjoyable.

The first part of the book is very lovely and is about dancing. Especially, the flamenco. After that 2/3 of the book is about a more serious subject, the civil war in Spain. I hardly knew a thing about that subject, and thought this was very interesting.

Was a huge fan of this book. She incorporated a lot fo Spanish history into a very compelling story about the Ramirez family. I desperately want to visit Spain after reading this book.

I preferred the last book of Hislop’s that I read but you can’t get over the emotion this book provokes. It’s a beautiful tale of tragedy against the backdrop of the Spanish civil war. I’d highly recommend.
