The series is supposed to be about a small town but it seemed like the characters hated the town. Some parts it seemed like the authors would be very preachy and it made me want to put the book down many many times. I just lost interest so many times I forced myself to finish it.

I really liked the nevermore bookstore but the main characters in this book were both completely insufferable.

Ethan was whiny at times and needed to figure his shit out faster. Darby deserved more.
The town shenanigans were the saving grace.

As much as I enjoyed the Nevermore Bookstore, I found I didn't enjoy Brewbies to the same degree. I liked Darby as a character, as well as her interactions with the people around her. She's sassy and takes no prisoners. Ethan, however, spends much of the book being a stuffy, entitled whiner, which made me less inclined to root for him and Darby as a couple. This is very much an opposites attract kind of story, but the cute moments were a little too far between. I found I didn't fully believe them as a couple. Fortunately there were enough shenanigans and humor to make reading more enjoyable, but it left me feeling a bit let down.
