I really enjoyed this book. Once I started I instantly lost in the story. I'm a huge fan of this series and love these baseball men. I know this is Cory's story, but I have to just mention that Jason is my favorite and I loved he is in this one a lot. I love his sense of humor and his heart. Cory is going to need Jason in his life, good thing they're teammates. Cory won me over for the way he treats Natalie. Can you say swoon! y heart goes out to Cory because he is put through the ringer with his new team. It broke my heart the impact it has on him physically and mentally. Cory's support system is going to be essential for him in this book. It's a book that is going to suck your right in with the characters. This book has plenty of heat, but it also brings the heart and feels.

Method: paperback
Rating: 4/5 stars
H rating: 4.5/5 - Cory. Oh holy smokes did I love him. Minus his one mistake I just loved him.
h rating: 5/5 - Natalie. I wish I knew you in real life! You are so awesome and strong!
Drama: 3/5 - Nothing tooo crazy, but yes a bit of drama.
Thoughts: This took me forever to finish but mainly because I was so busy! I hate it took forever but it was out of my control. Onto next one! Maddox!

Cory Fucking Potter AKA the golden baseball boy with the kind heart has a crush on Natalie Myers, his teammate Jason Orson's sister. When Cory finds out that Natalie is married, he's devastated. Unbeknownst to him, Natalie is in fact newly divorced. When Cory and Natalie get stuck in a one-hotel-room-one-bed situation during a group vacation, their close proximity unleashes a fresh new scent of pining hero 😏
Cory has plans to settle down and start a family after he retires from baseball. But he falls in love at first sight, drawn by Natalie's infectious smile and laughter. It's the cutest shit ever. Cory is the kind of man who wants all of you. He wants to take care of you. He wants to chat with you. He wants to take you out on casual dates and fancy dates. He wants to spoil you. He wants to travel with you. He wants to be there for you. He wants to make your dreams come true. He wants to support you in every aspect of your life. He is 💯 all in. Basically, Cory Potter is a man written by a woman. Thanks, Meghan Quinn 😂
Cory is scared of making a move because he wants a serious relationship with Natalie, who has made it known that she's looking for a fling. I loved every single moment Cory and Natalie spent on vacation, with the other characters also rooting for them to get together. The sexual tension in this book is 🔥🔥🔥 The forced proximity trope is executed to perfection. On top of Cory and Natalie becoming friends, the build up of tension and chemistry is incredibly well-written. I was on edge the entire time these two interacted, especially during the Netflix and Chill sessions 😏
I LOVE the way Cory pined for Natalie throughout the entire book, even after they got together. A pining hero who wants everything with the heroine?! Yes, please and thank you! That one-sided pining eventually turns into mutual pining during their vacation, which makes the sexual tension extra delicious and spicy 🌶️ I also loved Natalie and Cory's relationship after they become an official couple. It was of course not as fun as the build up, but still sexy AF 🔥 Cory Potter, the golden boy with the kind heart, has quite the dirty mouth on him 🥵🔥
As for the conflict...I wasn't the biggest fan. Cory was traded for the Chicago Rebels and the fans absolutely despise him. This negatively impacts Cory's mental and physical health, as well as his reputation in the media. This also ends up impacting his new relationship with Natalie. As with the previous books, Natalie and Cory get separated during their conflict. This time, it's for 7 months, which is not as bad as The Locker Room, but it was unnecessarily drawn-out. The reunion also happened too fast in the final chapter, so it didn't feel as heartfelt as I was expecting it to be. It also felt anticlimactic. I would say that the third act conflicts were much better executed in The Dugout and The Lineup.
Despite my disappointment with Cory and Natalie's reunion, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. And the third act conflict didn't ruin my enjoyment of the romance. I'm still 💯 in love with Cory and Natalie 🥰
P.S. The boss 😏

Oh my god Cory potter is book boyfriend material for sure. Even with a third party breakup we need more of him in our lives. Even though I found the FMC to be a big whiny when we started. I did love her and glad she overcame her feelings about herself. That was beautiful to see. I was so happy we got a book about Cory. We definitely deserved it !

I love Meghan Quinn and I liked this book. My only problem with it was it was SO long...it just seemed to reiterate the feelings of each of them over and over. I loved Cory and thought he was great book boyfriend material, and Natalie was great. But I found myself losing interest in the story in the repetitiveness of their ideals and reasons. I wanted to jump in and shake them both. JUST FIGURE YOUR SHIT OUT. But alas I am not able to shake fictional characters. Did I enjoy this book? Yes. Would I recommend? Yes...but did I skim a bit? Yeah, sorry. xo

Finally finished
I've finally finished the Brentwood Boys series and although this has the classic MQ third act drawn out break up I loved how the two main characters still loved each other deeply. This does a whiff of instalove so if that's not your bag maybe give this a miss.
